As it turns out, in addition to streaming for your phones, tablets, Xbox consoles and PC at some undisclosed point, Microsoft may also offer a dedicated streaming stick that is free with a subscription to Xbox Game Pass. With this streaming stick, you would only need a TV and a controller to have access to your favorite Xbox video games.

Gamers are plenty familiar with the notion of console exclusive games: Halo for the Xbox, Uncharted for the PlayStation, you know how it goes. However, it’s not every day that a console gets an exclusive mode for a game, which is what’s happening for both the PlayStation 4 and 5 in regards to Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. There are a few caveats though.

Recently, Ubisoft has made quite a significant change to its primary player services, Ubisoft Club and Uplay. From here on out, both services will function under Ubisoft Connect, a platform from the popular game publisher that intends to aid players in staying connected with not only each other, but themselves, via things like cross-progression and cross-platform support. Ubisoft Connect will debut on October 29 alongside the launch of Watch Dogs: Legion. Players with a Ubisoft account will be able to "play, progress, and stay in touch with friends anywhere."

Like a great number Assassin's Creed games that have come before this most recent title, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will get a very significant amount of post-launch DLC, which is no surprise for a Ubisoft game. That said, some of the DLC will be free, while other parts will be locked behind a $40 season pass. After all, content takes money to make, so no surprise there either.

The eccentric game developer Double Fine Productions has announced that the classic LucasArts games of its past, those being Grim Fandango, Full Throttle, and Day of the Tentacle, will be available on Xbox Game Pass as soon as October 29th. Notably, this will mark the first time these titles will be released on Xbox consoles.

The headline of this article is something you probably never expected to read. We’re going to level with you: we weren’t expecting it either. And yet, it’s a true statement. Atari is looking to launch a new console this coming fall, but along with it, a new form of cryptocurrency as well. The Atari VCS is supposed to be available come November, and players will be able to buy things for it using currency dubbed “Atari Tokens.” These tokens are in fact backed by Bitcoin.

It may come as a surprise to some, but cross-play isn’t nearly as universal of a feature as one would expect in today’s day and age. Quite recently, members of the prominent multinational video game piracy group Team Xecutor have been arrested, and they are facing multiple serious felony charges. This was announced by US Attorney's Office of the Western District of Washington on October 3rd. The arrested individuals were Max Louarn, Yuanning Chen, and Gary Bowser, all of whom were all charged with 11 felony counts, including conspiracy to commit money laundering, wire fraud, and trafficking in circumvention devices.

Apparently, Amazon thinks it can carve its own niche out of the gaming industry. Whether or not that is true, we have no idea. But we’re certainly interested by the attempt, and we’re going to tell you all about it. The gaming service will be called Luna, and it is going to use Amazon Web Services, or AWS, as its main foundation. According to CNET, the service will supposedly be available anywhere, including on iPhone and iPad. Starting today, one can request early access to this service.

Considering the success of the Switch, it should come as no surprise to anyone that Nintendo has no intention of leaving the hardware scene at any point in the near future. In a corporate management briefing, Nintendo confirmed that they are working on new hardware: but as for when it will release, apparently they are only willing to say this it will be sometime before 2099. More accurately, the statement was that their “next gaming system” would launch sometime in “20XX.”

The real question is where you can begin pre-ordering the Microsoft Xbox Series X: a number of different retailers are already showing stock, as well as the availability to pre-order. This includes Best Buy, which is no real surprise to anyone, but you can also find them at Sam’s Club. Listing for preorders went live on the usual retailer websites today, including Target, Walmart, Microsoft, and GameStop, but as quickly as the listings appeared, they were sold out. No big surprise there either, as everyone probably jumped on the opportunity to pre-order the new consoles as swiftly as possible.

Ever since the advent of new generations of consoles following the first, backwards compatibility has been a hot topic for gamers and game developers. After all, many gamers want to be able to play their old favorites, even if they get a new console. Unfortunately, those who purchase the Sony PlayStation 5 will be severely limited in backwards compatibility capabilities. According to Ubisoft, the PlayStation 5 will not have backwards compatibility support for anything earlier than the PS4: that includes the PS1, 2 and 3, of course.

Ever since PUBG hit the ground running, the battle royale genre has become immensely popular in the modern generation of gaming. Over the past few years, nearly everyone has tried to get it on the hype of battle royale games in one way or another, even if their games weren’t originally intended to work in such a fashion. And yet, that paradigm is going to continue: believe it or not, one of the recently announced Mario games from Nintendo is a battle royale game.

The Resident Evil Franchise is mostly known for its video games, but it has dabbled in television and movies from time to time. However, most of them weren’t extremely popular. Fans have a pretty polarized view of the movies even if they sold decently over time, but either way, it seems that Netflix is going to give it another shot, green lighting a Resident Evil show that has a director from Breaking Bad attached to it.

Which free games are available for PlayStation Plus in September 2020? As soon as September 1st comes around, subscribers will be able to get their hands on both Street Fighter V and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. Admittedly, this duo is a significantly stronger offering of titles than PlayStation Plus usually offers, so they are definitely worth grabbing before they are gone on October 5th.

Due to negative feedback on the first gameplay reveal for Crysis Remastered, it was delayed beyond its initial release date. Instead of the initial date it was supposed to debut on, it will now be released on September 18th for the Xbox One, PS4 and PC. Being a remaster instead of a brand-new game, it will retail for just $30 instead of the traditional $60.

It turns out that Ubisoft has enacted a change to the Collector's editions of three very anticipated Xbox titles for those living in the UK. If you are a UK resident and you pre-ordered the Collector's editions for Watch Dogs: Legion, Assassin's Creed Valhalla, or Far Cry 6 for the Xbox One, you will no longer receive a physical copy of the game. Instead, you will only get a digital copy.

A lot of games have been getting delayed over the past few months: Cyberpunk 2077 got delayed more than twice, and lots of other titles suffered similar fates. However, no one expected one of the most hotly anticipated games of 2020 to get delayed, especially since it is the flagship title for the Xbox, and has been for twenty years. That’s right: Halo Infinite has been delayed until 2021. As for why, Developer 343 Industries stated that a major reason for the delay was the shift to work-from-home operations, and that it will give the team the time to "deliver a Halo game experience that meets our vision."

As of right now, Hulu subscribers that use the $6 per month plan, which includes ads, can save money by purchasing a yearly subscription at $60. Naturally, that year subscription will also include ads, so don’t go thinking you get out of that bit. All in all, it’s not great savings, simply taking the overall cost down by $12 over the course of the year, but paying $5 a month for Hulu is still better than paying $6. Simple math. Moreover, this new subscription price will ensure that Hulu remains particularly budget-friendly for the whole family, a title it’s had for some time now anyway.
