Samsung refunded pre-orders of the device and pushed back the date indefinitely.

Amazon Expands AmazonFresh Service to Houston, Minneapolis, Phoenix

Amazon Fresh is a grocery delivery and pickup service only in select cities worldwide. Currently, Prime Members can get a subscription to AmazonFresh for an additional $14.99 per month. Amazon started this service in 2017 in the United Kingdom and has expanded the service to more than 300 postcodes across the U.K. The service even offers delivery in less than one-hour from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. all week.

Getting online to watch one-to-two minute videos posted to Buzzfeed’s ever-popular Tasty page on Facebook seems to be a past time of most who are looking for an easy way to eat at home. Walmart saw the potential in the brand’s popularity and started selling Tasty merchandise in March 2018. The inexpensive line offers 90 products. Now to further expand on their partnership, Walmart is collaborating with Tasty for easy, shoppable recipes. According to Walmart, customers can now get the entire ingredients lists from more than 4,000 recipes featured on Tasty right to an online grocery cart with one click.

Store Closures Could Reach More Than 12,000 In U.S. Before End Of 2019

As many retailers have shuttered their stores, filed for bankruptcy or reduced its retail footprint, analysts at Coresight Research predict that the store closure number could reach more than 12,000 before 2019 is over. As of Aug. 2, there’s been 27 percent more store closures in 2019 than in 2018, according to USA Today.

Verizon announced Aug. 2 that it would launch a new “mix-and-match” Unlimited plans with a discounted rate of about $5. These “unlimited” plans come with certain features for each phone line. As Verizon moves into 5G services the new plans offer features for both 4G and 5G capable phones. Currently, Verizon has 5G launched in parts of Minneapolis, Chicago, Atlanta, Detroit, St. Paul, Denver, Providence, Indianiapolis and Washington, D.C.

Apple’s third quarter earnings show third-consecutive slump in iPhone sales

Apple’s third quarter results suggest the company saw revenue of $53.8 billion — about a 1 percent increase over last year’s third quarter results. Apple’s move into the fourth quarter shows goals of revenue increase from $61-$64 billion in revenue and a gross margin of 37.5-38.5 percent. According to the New York Times, Apple posted a 13 percent net-income earnings decrease from last year, suggesting iPhone sales the culprit behind the techno gadget company’s slide.
