Final Fantasy 7 Remake has Been Delayed Until April
While it is extremely unfortunate news for all Square Enix fans, the much anticipated Final Fantasy 7 remake has been delayed until April.
When will Final Fantasy 7 Remake Be Released?
Initially, it was supposed to be released on March 3rd, but developer Yoshinori Kitase has declared that the game has been delayed until April 10th. Supposedly, the reason for this is to give the developing team more time to take care of some of the finishing touches for the game.
Patapon 2 Remastered is Coming to PS4 This Week
Patapon 2 may be over ten years old at this point, but its remastered version is coming to the PS4 this week; January 30th, in fact. Come Thursday, it will be available for $14.99. Originally released all the way back in 2008 for the PlayStation Portable (God rest its soul), fans have been begging for a port or a remaster of Patapon 2 ever since the original Patapon game received such treatment back in 2017.
Cyberpunk 2077 Delayed Until Later this Year
Unfortunately, hotly anticipated game Cyberpunk 2077 has been delayed yet again, with its April 16th date no longer in the cards. Instead, we won’t be getting the game until September 17th, though it will still be available to pre-order. Other than this delay, however, the game is still set to released on Xbox, PlayStation, and Stadia, so nothing has changed on that front.
3 New Games Added on PlayStation Now for January 2020
Getting free games on a regular basis is pretty standard fare these days. With the generosity of services like Xbox Live Gold and PlayStation Now, us gamers get free games every month, and it is well and truly sweet. For Sony fans in particular, we’ll be getting three particularly noteworthy games added to PlayStation Now for January 2020. Unfortunately these games will only be available for a short time, but as a subscriber to the service, you’re able to pick them up as early as January 1st.
Game ‘New World’ Will Now Cost $40, But Some People Will Still Be Able...
It was in 2018 that Amazon (yes, that Amazon) announced they would be producing a video game of their own. A massive multiplayer online game called New World. Originally, it was marketed as free to play, but now that the game is actually getting closer to launch day, Amazon has marked the price of a pre-order at $40, hitting us all with the old switcheroo. Of course, it’s not quite as bad as it sounds; that $40 will grant a player lifetime access to the game. Still, it seems a bit underhanded. Or it would, if Amazon weren’t keeping their end of the bargain to some degree. On 12/13/19, the company began notifying people that had pre-ordered the game in 2018 when it was announced (and when it was supposed to be free), that they would still get the lifetime access to the finished product at no charge. The email that said as much reads as follows: "Today, we're making 'New World' available for pre-order again. You were one of the first customers to order New World, and you ordered it when it was free-to-play," according to a copy of the email Reviewed by Business Insider. "Your order is still good, and your price — $0.00 — is still good also."
The Fast and Furious Movie Franchise gets a Video Game in May – “Fast...
The Game Awards 201 naturally included a great deal of announcements, with many of them being, as you may have guessed, about games. However, one title no one may have been expecting was that of a Fast and Furious video game based on the movie franchise. Dubbed Fast and Furious: Crossroads, the trailer makes it seem as though we’ll get everything one expects out of such a franchise; cars, drama, action, and insane thrills. Many of the characters we saw resemble characters from the films, so get ready to see Vin Diesel on your consoles.
Of course, all we really got about the game was a trailer, so frankly we don’t know all that much about it. But we do know which platforms the game will release on, as well as who is developing the game and who is publishing it. The game will be released on Xbox One, PS4, and PC, in May of 2020. It’s being published by Bandai Namco, and developed by Slightly Mad Studios, which also worked on a few Need for Speed games, as well as the Project Cars series.
The Next Gen Xbox Has Been Revealed: Xbox Series X and what we Know...
Originally known as Project Scarlett, Microsoft has finally revealed the true nature of their next generation console. Its name? Xbox Series X. People have been asking questions about it since the project was revealed, such as what kind of games it would have, what level the graphics would be at, and how powerful it would be. With the next generation finally being revealed by Microsoft, we finally have some insight into the answers to some of those questions. A lot of those details were revealed by the head of Xbox, Phil Spencer. With the next generation, it’s obvious that graphics are going to be a major factor, and Phil Spencer outright said as much. "We wanted to have a dramatic upgrade from the Xbox One base console. So when we do the math, we're over eight times the GPU power of the Xbox One, and two times what an Xbox One X is."
Get ‘The Wolf Among Us’ for Free and See Teaser for ‘The Wolf Among...
Many things were announced and revealed at the Game Awards this year, with some of the revelations being massive and the others just being news about upcoming games. One great piece of news that some people might have missed out on or forgotten about under the shadow of the Xbox Series X is the revival of The Wolf Among Us series. LCG Entertainment, which relaunched Telltale Games earlier in 2019, revealed a teaser trailer of the sequel during a press release. Of course, we don’t actually know much of anything about the sequel at all. All we know is that it is being developed for both PC and consoles, and that it will be an Epic Games exclusive. Other than that, we know nothing; no details about the plot, no timeline on whether or not it will always be an Epic Games exclusive, not even a potential release date. That said, that lack of detail doesn’t change the fact that the revival of the franchise is a quintessential miracle: considering how Telltale Games closed down last year, many fans believed The Wolf Among Us was doomed to remain a singular title that would never be touched again.
The Final PlayStation State of Play of 2019 will include New Game Reveals
Sony’s State of Play broadcast is one of the best ways to keep up with everything happening on the PlayStation console. The final State of Play broadcast for 2019 will be aired on Tuesday, December 10th, and despite being the last of the year, there’s some exciting news included with it. Of course, it’s more of vague teasers than detailed information, but it’s certainly better than nothing.
Overwatch 2 will be Coming to the Nintendo Switch
The sequel to the immensely popular shooter Overwatch was announced much earlier this year at the BlizzCon Expo, so we as gamers have known about it for quite some time. We’ve learned a good bit of information about it, such as the intent to add a single player campaign mode to the game, a major deviation to it’s almost entirely PvP multiplayer focus.
Google Stadia’s Launch Lineup has Expanded to 22 games Instead of 12
When Google revealed the launch lineup for its soon to be released Stadia game streaming service, people were understandably concerned; it only had 12 games, some of which weren’t all that new or even that demanding in terms of processing power, which was kind of Stadia’s whole selling point. In fact, the initial response to the Stadia launch lineup was so lackluster that Google is making a last ditch addition to the whole thing; ten extra games will now be available at launch, barely a day before said launch actually occurs.
A New Mass Effect Game is Allegedly Underway at BioWare Edmonton
Thanks to information from Kotaku, it seems that a new Mass Effect game is in very early development at BioWare Edmonton, under the supervision of Mike Gamble. Gamble’s been working at BioWare since 2009, and had a hand in both Mass Effect 2 and 3 (also Andromeda, but we’re trying to get our hopes up here). He also worked on Anthem, but it seems he’ll be returning to where he started.
Some Seriously Great Games are Coming to Game Pass in the Next Couple of...
Xbox Game Pass has always been a stellar deal when it comes to content for your dollar. But thanks to the news we’ve gotten from Microsoft at the X019 Show, we’ve learned that the deal is getting even better. During the event, Microsoft announced over 50 titles that would be added to Game Pass in the next couple of months, including highly anticipated titles like Final Fantasy 8 Remastered and many of the Yakuza titles.
Google Stadia’s Initial Launch is Surprisingly Lackluster
The twelve games that have been revealed for Stadia’s launch lineup are as follows: Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Destiny 2: The Collection, GYLT, Just Dance 2020, Kine, Mortal Kombat 11, Red Dead Redemption 2, Thumper, Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Shadow of the Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition and Samurai Showdown.
Ubisoft Reveals its Long and Short Term Plans to Improve Ghost Recon: Breakpoint
Unfortunately, there’s no denying that Ghost Recon: Breakpoint has had a pretty rough launch. With many high impact bugs and glitches, not to mention the micro transaction system and even the design of the overall map and gameplay, it has received a lot of criticism from both players and game critics. Never a good thing to happen on a game’s launch, but at least Ubisoft has revealed that they do have plans to improve the game both in the short run and the long haul, as revealed in a comprehensive blog post in which they addressed all of the problems they openly admit to. Supposedly, their plan includes post-launch content, a change to the in-game economy, more customization options, and the addition of AI teammates.
Steam Launches a Beta for Playing Local Multiplayer over the Internet
Local multiplayer is the kind of thing that has fallen out of grace in the gaming community compared to its previous reign. In the old days, local multiplayer was the magic of playing a shooter splitscreen with your sibling or friend, or racing against them as you both reclined on the couch. With how important online gameplay is these days, local multiplayer has become a lot less important, with some games not even offering it. That said, you can usually accomplish what you wanted to through online multiplayer, but not always, and that’s why Steam has launched a new beta program in which you can play local multiplayer with your friends over the internet.
Star Wars: Fallen Order could be EA’s Redemption, but Keep your Fingers Crossed
There was a time, distant though it may be, when Electronic Arts was considered one of the most prominent game publishers of the day; a true pioneer of fun and exciting gaming content, with titles like Dead Space, Need for Speed, and Burnout. One of the things that most of those games had it common was their focus on single player content, and being complete package on the day of release. Both of those are hard to come by with EA games these days, and people have been mercilessly ridiculing the publisher for that very reason.
Bethesda’s most Recent Decision for Fallout 76 just makes The Outer Worlds seem much...
Fallout 76 has given Bethesda a whole lot of trouble since its launch; with an appalling lack of content that even including the absence of NPCs, it’s no wonder that players and even Fallout fans were quite unhappy with the whole situation. Naturally Bethesda has taken some steps to try and rectify the situation since the launch of Fallout 76, but the stigma from its opening days still hasn’t gone away. And even though Bethesda may have been able to finally fix some of the major problems with the game with the Wastelanders update (which was going to add NPCs), not only did that update get delayed, but their most recent decision in regards to the game is just making things worse.
Nintendo Switch Sales Surpasses 15 Million Units
The console that was introduced in 2017 has hit another sales milestone, surpassing 15 million units in North America alone since its release, according to NPD group, which tracks video game sales. Nintendo Switch has even hit a bigger success: being the top selling console for 10 consecutive months.
Travis Knight is the Sixth Director Chosen to take Command of the Uncharted Movie
Uncharted has been one of Sony’s most popular exclusive franchises, gaining well deserved renown in nearly all circles of PlayStation, so it’s no surprise that a movie was determined to be a good idea. However, it’s been pretty hectic thus far, with five different directors trading places prior to Travis Knight, who is now the sixth director to be put in charge of the film. If we’re lucky, maybe he’ll be the last, which will allow the movie to finally get underway.
