Getting free games on a regular basis is pretty standard fare these days. With the generosity of services like Xbox Live Gold and PlayStation Now, us gamers get free games every month, and it is well and truly sweet. For Sony fans in particular, we’ll be getting three particularly noteworthy games added to PlayStation Now for January 2020. Unfortunately these games will only be available for a short time, but as a subscriber to the service, you’re able to pick them up as early as January 1st.
These notable titles will include Horizon Zero Dawn, with bonus content including the Frozen Wilds expansion included. It’ll also have Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. Both of these games will be available from January to April, and you’ll be able to both download them and stream them; whichever you prefer. While the final addition to the service isn’t quite as amazing as the other two, Overcooked 2 will also be making an appearance. However, that game doesn’t have any sort of expiration date, so as far as we know it will always be available on the service.
While these new games are getting added, you can still pick up the games that were made available during December, which includes Wolfenstein: The Old Blood, PUBG, and Formula 1 2019, available until March. Middle-Earth: Shadow of War and Persona 5 will be available until February. However, GTA V, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, Infamous: Second Son, and God of War will all be removed in January, so you should experience them now while you still have the chance to do so for free.

If you aren’t subscribed to PlayStation Now, this isn’t a terrible time to get invested, as Sony recently reduced the price of a monthly subscription from $20 to $10. And with a lot of big titles being included in the subscription lineup, $10 really isn’t a bad price at all. This price reduction was almost definitely made to compete with Microsoft and their Xbox Game Pass offer, so chances are it won’t go away anytime soon, which is a great plus for the rest of us.
However, keep in mind that many of the games added to PlayStation Now are only available for a limited time, so it is not like you are getting permanent access to all of these titles. That being said, get the most out of your subscription whenever you can, or it’s $10 a month not reaching its full potential.
