Every PS5 Game Confirmed Thus Far & Some Titles We Expect To See

Roughly every five years is the window for new generations of video game consoles to be released, and the year 2020 marks that time yet again. By roughly the holiday season this year, we will get to see both the Xbox Series X and the PlayStation 5. Even though the pandemic has been impacting workflow across all industries, these intended release dates are still holding true, so it won’t be long now before we get to enjoy these new consoles. But what titles will we get to play on these consoles? Cyberpunk 2077 Has Been Delayed Yet Again, This Time Until November

It’s a sad tale that has become all too common in the current state of society: game after game is delayed time and time again, pushing expected release dates further and further from what they had originally been. Unfortunately, this sad reality is affecting a game that a great many people were looking forward to, that being Cyberpunk 2077. The game was originally scheduled to release in September, but now we are looking at a November release date, specifically on November 19th for the PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Electronic Arts Has Announced That They Will Release More Games For The Switch

If there’s one console Electronic Arts has mostly ignored since its release, it is the Nintendo Switch. The past few generations of EA titles have not made it to the handheld console, or if they have, it has been quite rare and rather sparingly. A sad thing to consider for Switch owning EA fans, but that may end up changing sooner rather than later. Whether it was an accident or intentional, a leak from the official Xbox website has revealed a brand-new Star Wars game that is on its way, called Star Wars: Squadrons. Thanks to the leaks coming out all over the internet, Electronic Arts went ahead and announced the title officially. Fan Fest For Final Fantasy 14 Cancelled, 5.3 Patch Delayed

Delays are certainly nothing new in the video game industry, especially this year, what with the virus and all. Of course, that doesn’t make it any less unfortunate when things get cancelled and delayed, and on the chopping block this time around is the Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn North American Fan Festival. While it had originally been scheduled for this year, Square Enix is now considering a 2021 date for the fan festival. On top of that, the 5.3 patch for the game is being delayed by at least a month. This information was revealed through a post on the official website, in which producer and director Naoki Yoshida claimed that complications from the COVID-19 situation were the reason for both the cancellation and the patch delay.

Sony Confirms A New Date For Their PS5 Games Event

For anyone that’s been keeping up with us or Sony in general, they know that a virtual event Sony had intended to hold a few days ago was delayed. The virtual event was going to reveal some information about the upcoming PlayStation 5, as well as some of the games that were going to launch with it or be available on it. While it was originally supposed to be on June 4th, the event was delayed. Sony’s reasoning for this was tied to the protests regarding the death of George Floyd. This probably shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone: as games become more and more advanced in scope and graphics, chances are it is going to take more workers, more time, and more money to make them. Simple economics: the more complex a product is, the more it costs to produce, and usually, the more it costs to buy as a consumer. With just $10.9 billion spent on video games in the first quarter of 2020, the United States has hit a brand-new record for quarterly video game sales. This new record is 9% higher than it was last year, which is a pretty significant increase. That quarter covered January to March, with the current quarter ending on June 30th.
