Steam Launches a Beta for Playing Local Multiplayer over the Internet

Steam Launches a Beta for Playing Local Multiplayer over the Internet

Local multiplayer is the kind of thing that has fallen out of grace in the gaming community compared to its previous reign. In the old days, local multiplayer was the magic of playing a shooter splitscreen with your sibling or friend, or racing against them as you both reclined on the couch. With how important online gameplay is these days, local multiplayer has become a lot less important, with some games not even offering it. That said, you can usually accomplish what you wanted to through online multiplayer, but not always, and that’s why Steam has launched a new beta program in which you can play local multiplayer with your friends over the internet.

Star Wars Fallen Order

Star Wars: Fallen Order could be EA’s Redemption, but Keep your Fingers Crossed

There was a time, distant though it may be, when Electronic Arts was considered one of the most prominent game publishers of the day; a true pioneer of fun and exciting gaming content, with titles like Dead Space, Need for Speed, and Burnout. One of the things that most of those games had it common was their focus on single player content, and being complete package on the day of release. Both of those are hard to come by with EA games these days, and people have been mercilessly ridiculing the publisher for that very reason.

Fallout 76

Bethesda’s most Recent Decision for Fallout 76 just makes The Outer Worlds seem much more Promising

Fallout 76 has given Bethesda a whole lot of trouble since its launch; with an appalling lack of content that even including the absence of NPCs, it’s no wonder that players and even Fallout fans were quite unhappy with the whole situation. Naturally Bethesda has taken some steps to try and rectify the situation since the launch of Fallout 76, but the stigma from its opening days still hasn’t gone away. And even though Bethesda may have been able to finally fix some of the major problems with the game with the Wastelanders update (which was going to add NPCs), not only did that update get delayed, but their most recent decision in regards to the game is just making things worse.

Travis Knight is the Sixth Director Chosen to take Command of the Uncharted Movie

Uncharted has been one of Sony’s most popular exclusive franchises, gaining well deserved renown in nearly all circles of PlayStation, so it’s no surprise that a movie was determined to be a good idea. However, it’s been pretty hectic thus far, with five different directors trading places prior to Travis Knight, who is now the sixth director to be put in charge of the film. If we’re lucky, maybe he’ll be the last, which will allow the movie to finally get underway.

Fallout 76

Fallout 76’s Most Anticipated Update has been Delayed to 2020

Anyone who remembers the initial launch of Fallout 76 remembers that it was pretty bad; or rather, a downright catastrophe in most regards. There were a couple of things that made the initial launch so distinctly poor, but if there’s one thing almost every player could agree on as being an utterly terrible design decision, it was the lack of human NPCs in an RPG game. Imagine a Fallout game where there is no one to talk to at all aside from robots and computer recordings. It was and is as bad as it sounds, being one of the most vocal complaints from players everywhere, so it makes sense that Bethesda would try to fix it.

The Free Rabbids Coding Game Teaches a Valuable Skill for the Modern Age

If there’s one thing that can’t be denied, it’s that coding is a very important part of modern society. A whole lot of important things in our world are dictated by lines of computer code that someone had to carefully type up. That said, learning coding isn’t easy, and it’s usually expensive, and it is rarely fun. At least, that’s the usual case. Because as of October 8th, Rabbids Coding was added to Uplay, and the game is free.

A Five-Year Plan for Destiny 2 means a Sequel is Probably Nowhere in Sight

A Five-Year Plan for Destiny 2 means a Sequel is Probably Nowhere in Sight

With a few exceptions, it seems like video games are starting to follow one collective trend; the gap between franchise installments is getting longer and longer. It seems that we have to wait several years now between games in almost any series, and that includes ones we usually don’t associate with such things, like shooters. Destiny 2 came out back in 2017; that’s not terribly old, but with Bungie revealing a five year roadmap of sorts for the game, starting October 1st, it seems that a Destiny 3 is well and truly a far off prospect.

Hideo Kojima is Already Considering a Death Stranding Sequel

Death Stranding is an incredibly strange game: according to Kojima it is part of the ‘strand game’ genre, but according to Kojima, that genre includes supernatural phenomenon, the wilderness, social networking, and item delivery. Maybe the genre sounds so strange because it’s a new one that Kojima is trying to solidify himself.

You can Save $8 on Super Mario Maker 2

You can Save $8 on Super Mario Maker 2

Quite frankly, Nintendo games don’t go on sale very often, so in the rare event that they do, you should always take advantage of it, even if the savings are small. $8 off of a $60 game isn’t the greatest discount you could ever see, but that’s still $8 you don’t have to spend. In the case of Super Mario Maker 2, there’s a deal going on at Amazon right now in which you can get it for $51.98; just over $8 of its usual price of $59.99. Considering how popular the game is, chances are its worth a buy for Mario fans, so getting even a little bit off is better than paying full price.

Two Classic Disney Games are getting a Facelift

Two Classic Disney Games are getting a Facelift – Aladdin and The Lion King

Sometimes, we even love going back to play games that are objectively bad just because they were good enough for us as kids. We usually have to enjoy those old titles in their original form, but every once in a while we get a cool remaster that puts a fresh spin on a major part of our childhood. Apparently, Disney is interested in doing this for two early 90s games, Aladdin and The Lion King.
