Microsoft has allegedly warned Xbox Series X developers against charging for DLC upgrades from the Xbox One to the generation that will succeed it. The intent seems to be disincentivizing publishers from charging money for a service that Microsoft wants to be a serious aspect of their Smart Delivery platform. Naturally, Microsoft wants the smoothest transition possible between console generations, with no barriers to players keeping their games when moving to the Xbox Series X. Of course, something like that would generally cost a bit of money.

As of right now, Hulu subscribers that use the $6 per month plan, which includes ads, can save money by purchasing a yearly subscription at $60. Naturally, that year subscription will also include ads, so don’t go thinking you get out of that bit. All in all, it’s not great savings, simply taking the overall cost down by $12 over the course of the year, but paying $5 a month for Hulu is still better than paying $6. Simple math. Moreover, this new subscription price will ensure that Hulu remains particularly budget-friendly for the whole family, a title it’s had for some time now anyway.

It turns out that Ubisoft has enacted a change to the Collector's editions of three very anticipated Xbox titles for those living in the UK. If you are a UK resident and you pre-ordered the Collector's editions for Watch Dogs: Legion, Assassin's Creed Valhalla, or Far Cry 6 for the Xbox One, you will no longer receive a physical copy of the game. Instead, you will only get a digital copy.

It turns out that Dead By Daylight will be getting a sizable update soon, specifically for its console versions. Most notably, this update will add cross-play and a new progression system, though it will also add the ability to access your full friend’s list, even if those friends are playing the game across different platforms. Obviously, that’s being added to help with the new cross platform game play.

It has been quite widely reported prior to now that Microsoft is planning to release a second next-generation Xbox that is supposed to be a less powerful version that lacks a physical media drive. But another report has revealed that this may not actually be the case. Due to negative feedback on the first gameplay reveal for Crysis Remastered, it was delayed beyond its initial release date. Instead of the initial date it was supposed to debut on, it will now be released on September 18th for the Xbox One, PS4 and PC. Being a remaster instead of a brand-new game, it will retail for just $30 instead of the traditional $60.

Recompile, a 3D title with Metroidvania style mechanics and a unique hacking mechanic, is one of the most recent titles to be confirmed for the next generation of consoles, for both the Xbox Series X and the PlayStation 5. Since the first Doom reboot got an exceptionally high-quality port for the Switch, expectations are high for the sequel, even though a release date for such a port still hasn’t been announced. But according to Doom Eternal’s devs, this is set to change very soon.
