The futuristic brother game to PUBG Mobile, called PUBG New State, has received a trailer and two videos, called Field Trip to Troi, episode one and two. These releases have finally given expectant players some insights and introduction to the game’s maps and features. The first thing to be released was the teaser video, which gives players a peek at the new setting for PUBG New State, the futuristic city of Troi, though it has certainly seen better days. Much like the way PUBG started out, Troi appears to be the only map in the game thus far, and it has a size of 8×8. The trailer gave players a look at several areas on the map, namely the mall, the laboratory, the exhibit hall, and the trailer park.

NieR Automata is still a phenomenal game with people singing its praises around the whole world. With how much love and attention the game has received from fans, one would think that any issues, like bugs or glitches, would be addressed fairly quickly. Well, that’s just not the case, at least not for the Steam version of the game. The PC version of NieR Automata has had issues with framerate and video issues for roughly four years, which is pretty crazy...

This is about as weird as it sounds: according to reports from Bloomberg, Netflix is laying the groundwork to get into the video game industry. This has raised a lot of questions and uncertainties, though it’s worth noting that the only things that exist right now are plans, and those are subject to change. What we know right now is that Netflix has hired Mike Verdu, a former EA and Zynga executive as their vice president of game development. According to the report, "The idea is to offer video games on Netflix's streaming platform within the next year” and "The company doesn't currently plan to charge extra for the content.”...

If there’s one movie that was hotly anticipated primarily due to how many times it was delayed, it’s probably Black Widow. It had several delays, with only a few of them due to the COVID pandemic that put most of media development on hold. However, finally, after all of those many delays, the Black Widow movie has made its way onto the big screen, and thus far, it’s done very, very well. This past weekend was Black Widow’s opening in domestic theaters, being viewed at more than 4,000 theaters across North America to the tune of $80 million. This number completely overshadowed early predictions of the movie’s performance, and it outperformed F9: The Fast Saga quite easily. Of course, we’re singing its domestic praises right now, but Black Widow did quite well internationally as well, earning $78 million in worldwide box offices...

Id Software, the developer behind critically acclaimed Doom Eternal, has recently revealed that a game mode they had planned for the game, called Invasion Mode, has been canceled. This post-launch mode was apparently going to allow players to enter the games of other players and control demons within them. Anyone who has played Dark Souls is familiar with the idea of invading another player’s world and giving them grief. The idea was interesting, but it is now being replaced with a single-player horde mode. Unfortunately, the Invasion mode was deemed too ambitious, considering the strife many development studios and console companies are still facing due to COVID...

Thanks to a number of bad decisions made by Electronic Arts in the past few years, their reputation isn’t exactly the best. Despite owning a number of game franchises that are greatly beloved, EA has a tendency to shoehorn something in that harms the experience: usually, something to do with money. Many still remember the loot box crises of Battlefront II and Halo Infinite. However, even EA wouldn’t go so far as to literally put ads in their games, right? Or would they really force you to watch an ad between Battlefield matches, a la YouTube? Assassin’s Creed was, for a time, a lot like Call of Duty, in the sense that you could expect a new entry in the series roughly every year. Oddly enough, it’s actually been a relatively long time since the last Assassin’s Creed game. Now though, it seems that Ubisoft may be working on biggest, most ambitious entry in the series, one that promises to be “a massive online platform that evolves over time.” Don’t get your hopes up too early though, as this foretold entry is still years away at best.

Nintendo recently announced that they will be releasing the Nintendo Switch OLED model, a new version of the Switch we all know and love. This new hardware revision will include a larger screen, an ethernet port, 64 gigabits of storage, and improved audio performance. The launch date for this new OLED Switch is set for October 8th which is also the release date for Metroid: Dread. Unfortunately, there is no evidence that there will be a Metroid-themed model, but that also doesn’t mean it isn’t a possibility...

It’s been a very long time in gaming terms since Fable 3 came out. Since then, the popular series from Lionsgate has pretty much faded away. The franchise didn’t even get an entry on the Xbox One, and it’s been more than ten years since Fable 3: practically an eternity in this field. But now, the Fable franchise is finally looking at a rebirth on the Xbox Series X|S. Of course, we’ve actually known that for a little while, since Microsoft gave us a reveal trailer for a new Fable game back in their 2020 showcase. Oddly enough though, information about the new Fable game has been especially vague since then...

With E3, players finally managed to get a bit more insight into the upcoming next entry in the immensely popular and famous Halo franchise, Halo Infinite. The year-long delay from its initial release date was a heavy blow for many fans, admittedly, 2021 is a good year for the release, being the 20th anniversary of both Halo and even the Xbox brand. But more important than any of that is the fact that there’s a beta coming up for Infinite this summer prior to its full release, and there is of course a way for prospective players to get into it. According to the developers, it should be a fairly easy matter to sign up for this beta, though it’ll be even easier if we talk about how to get in.

Rainbow Six, arguably one of the most successful of Tom Clancy’s many properties, has had many iterations over the years. However, there’s no doubting that Rainbow Six Siege is the most popular and successful of those iterations, heavily focusing on character-centric team-dependent multiplayer in a series that had previously possessed far more single-player content. Lots of people really like Siege, in no small part due to the many unique Operators it has to offer. But a lot of people also wanted to see some of those characters in actual stories, in gameplay that wasn’t purely competitive multiplayer. Ubisoft apparently got the memo, perhaps due to that successful co-op Outbreak event a few years back, and now Rainbow Six Extraction is on its way...
