Since the day after Star Wars shook the world and changed cinema forever, enthusiasts and scientists alike have pondered what it would be like to own a real lightsaber. Sure, the plastic, telescopic light up version you can find in the toy section are one thing, but they fall short in many ways. Apart from those, you’ve got the expensive metal replicas that, while pretty cool, are often beyond the casual fan’s financial means. Even scientists forayed into the topic of creating a real lightsaber. Considering how popular Star Wars is and how iconic lightsabers are, it’s always been disappointing that they were purely fantasy.

Disney has been on a remake kick lately, feeling the need to redo just about every movie they produced in the past. There’s something to be said about a lack of creativity in rehashing things that have already been done, and while one may argue that remakes bring the content to a new generation, you could also argue that the new generation should just watch the originals.

You probably don’t want to hear more bad news regarding the Coronavirus, but unfortunately, there’s plenty of it to go around. It has well and truly brought most of society’s aspects to a screeching halt, especially when it comes to entertainment and recreation. After all, the inability to gather in large groups means no one is going to Disneyworld or Disneyland anytime soon.

While fans spend hours and hours of time debating the controversial Skywalker saga and catching up on season one of the Mandalorian, the creative team at Disney is already cooking up their next major Star Wars adventures, the mysteriously named multi-media initiative known as Project Luminous. According to the team over at Screenrant​, this new phase in Disney’s expansion of the Star Wars universe with the creative minds over at Lucasfilm will set up the next several years of Star Wars stories, potentially something so big it will impact the full multi-media landscape ranging from the popular Star Wars comic series by Marvel, their award winning video games, and most definitely on their recently launched streaming service.

Sometimes, we even love going back to play games that are objectively bad just because they were good enough for us as kids. We usually have to enjoy those old titles in their original form, but every once in a while we get a cool remaster that puts a fresh spin on a major part of our childhood. Apparently, Disney is interested in doing this for two early 90s games, Aladdin and The Lion King.

Most everyone knows by now about Disney+, the streaming service the company of the same name is going to launch this November. During D23, we heard a great deal about the different shows and movies that would be available on the service, including many MCU shows, such as She-Hulk, Moon Knight, and Ms. Marvel.

Disney’s decisions in relation to Star Wars haven’t been universally popular. In fact, the franchise has never been in such a state of contrived flux as it is under their direction, but one of their most recent additions to the universe might be worth all the hassle the sequel trilogy brought about.
