Most everyone knows by now about Disney+, the streaming service the company of the same name is going to launch this November. During D23, we heard a great deal about the different shows and movies that would be available on the service, including many MCU shows, such as She-Hulk, Moon Knight, and Ms. Marvel.
Of course, it’ll also offer shows from many other brands, like Pixar and Star Wars. Of course, most subscription services end up getting a bit costly when you consider annual subscriptions, and this is especially true if you also pay for things like Hulu or Netflix. Disney+ in and of itself is pretty cheap at just $7 a month, or $70 for a full year, but thanks to some info revealed at D23, it turns out you can actually get it for even cheaper; with a few caveats.
This deal is pretty brief, lasting only until September 1st, but if you take advantage of it, you’ll be able to pay approximately $4 a month for Disney+, or only $47 a year. As you can see, you’d be saving quite a bit of money. The only catch is that you have to pay upfront for three years.
At first, this deal was only made available to D23 members, but now you can take advantage of it so long as you are a U.S. resident with a general membership, which is free. In order to do that, you’ll have to sign up for D23’s free fan club before 11:59 PM, Sunday night. It could take up to 36 hours to get your invite to claim the deal if you are signing up for the first time, so it’s better to do this sooner rather than later if you are interested.
Of course, if you do take advantage of this deal, you’ll be paying more money at once than you would be over time, but in the long run it’ll save you money. At $47 a year for three years, you’ll be paying $141 up front, but if you paid year by year for $70, you’d be paying $210 total. So while you would be paying more upfront for three years than you would for one, ultimately you get to save approximately $70. Whether or not savings like that are worth it is up to the individual, but at least you won’t have to worry about managing your subscriptions for the next 3 years.
