Quite possibly one of the most popular Star Wars games of all time, Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords has long been denied the mobile release that its predecessor received, much to the chagrin of its many, many fans. However, that state of affairs will soon be over, as this highly popular Star Wars game is finally getting a mobile release.
First and foremost, it’s worth noting that this will be available on both iOS and Android devices, so whatever your preference, you won’t be hurting for the game.
The first Knights of the Old Republic was one of the best role-playing games ever, and while KOTOR II was made by Obsidian instead of BioWare and didn’t receive quite the same level of universal praise, but many people would swear that it was actually the superior game in terms of story and mechanics. If you’re a Star Wars fan who has managed to miss out on this title and don’t have any better way to play it, you’ll be able to get it on a mobile device for $15 come December 18. As stated previously, it will also be available on Android.
Knights of the Old Republic II starts a few years after the events of the first game in the series, introducing players to a mostly new party of people, though there are a few familiar faces if you know where to look. The basics of the formula from the first game are followed pretty closely in most regards sometimes in areas where it really didn’t need to be, but on the other hand, that does mean people who really liked the first game don’t have to worry about the second one straying too far from what they are familiar with.
If you’re still on the fence about whether or not you should try it at all, you can take a look at GameSpot’s original Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II review from 2004. “It’s just as important to note that no other game since Knights of the Old Republic has managed to deliver this excellent style of role-playing,” wrote editor Greg Kasavin. “If you’re a Knights of the Old Republic fan, then you should find a certain satisfaction in knowing almost exactly what you’re in for going into The Sith Lords.”

Now, for those who have actually played KOTOR II before and know a little bit about it, it’s worth noting that this version of the game will be the same as the one that was released on Xbox all those years ago. That means there is still cut content, and the Restored mod is not part of the $15 package. That being said, fans that want the complete experience may be better off using a computer.
