Xbox Halo Infinite

The Hotly Anticipated Halo Infinite Has Been Delayed

A lot of games have been getting delayed over the past few months: Cyberpunk 2077 got delayed more than twice, and lots of other titles suffered similar fates. However, no one expected one of the most hotly anticipated games of 2020 to get delayed, especially since it is the flagship title for the Xbox, and has been for twenty years. That’s right: Halo Infinite has been delayed until 2021. As for why, Developer 343 Industries stated that a major reason for the delay was the shift to work-from-home operations, and that it will give the team the time to “deliver a Halo game experience that meets our vision.”

Hulu Subscription

You Can Get Hulu For Cheaper If You Pay For A Yearly Subscription, But There’s A Catch

As of right now, Hulu subscribers that use the $6 per month plan, which includes ads, can save money by purchasing a yearly subscription at $60. Naturally, that year subscription will also include ads, so don’t go thinking you get out of that bit. All in all, it’s not great savings, simply taking the overall cost down by $12 over the course of the year, but paying $5 a month for Hulu is still better than paying $6. Simple math. Moreover, this new subscription price will ensure that Hulu remains particularly budget-friendly for the whole family, a title it’s had for some time now anyway.

Xbox Series X

Microsoft Has Warned Developers Not To Offer Xbox Series X Upgrades As Paid DLC

Microsoft has allegedly warned Xbox Series X developers against charging for DLC upgrades from the Xbox One to the generation that will succeed it. The intent seems to be disincentivizing publishers from charging money for a service that Microsoft wants to be a serious aspect of their Smart Delivery platform. Naturally, Microsoft wants the smoothest transition possible between console generations, with no barriers to players keeping their games when moving to the Xbox Series X. Of course, something like that would generally cost a bit of money.

Xbox Halo Infinite

Xbox Hints That Halo Infinite Will Have A Much Different Structure Than Previous Halo Games

Without a doubt, Halo Infinite is one of the most hotly anticipated games of the upcoming holiday season, at least as far as the Xbox is concerned. This isn’t really surprising considering the nature of Halo as one of Microsoft’s flagship series. And yet, very little has been revealed about the game, with the public only seeing a few cinematic trailers. Xbox has said that the game will be significantly different from previous Halo games, but of course we can still expect the game to look and play like a Halo entry, but Xbox’s Phil Spencer recently made a few hints about how the game will be structurally different from the Master Chief Collection, though it’s a little unclear what he is implying.

Some serious changes are being made to Xbox Live Gold’s subscription program, as Microsoft has decided to discontinue their year-long subscription plans. As of now, only monthly and three-month Xbox Live Gold subscriptions are available from Microsoft’s website. Unfortunately, this was not an accidental change, and Microsoft definitely intended to make it happen, for reasons they extrapolated on to some extent.

Unfortunately, Sony still hasn’t announced the price or release date for the console, so it is currently impossible to pre-order it.

Halo: Combat Evolved Is Getting Some New Aesthetic Customizations

Halo Infinite may be in the works right now, but that doesn’t mean it is the only thing related to Halo that 343 has been busy with. And of course, the trend isn’t ending anytime soon, with a rather sizable and notable update coming to Halo: Combat Evolved in particular. In an odd twist, the first and traditionally least customizable game in the franchise is going to be getting some more customization.

Best Games Being Released In July 2020 Across All Platforms

Historically speaking, July has often been a very slow month for video games, because it’s not near any major holiday that gives people a little extra cash or requires them to go out and buy gifts. But a slow month or not, there’s always a new game being released each month, and July this year actually has quite a few exciting titles to mention. These summer releases are definitely worth keeping an eye on as their debuts approach. That said, it’s worth noting that some of these games weren’t originally supposed to be July titles, but they were delayed and pushed back into it. Not that it makes a difference, ultimately.

EVO Gaming Convention

EVO 2020 Has Been Cancelled, But Not For The Reasons You Think

Thanks to the Coronavirus, numerous different events that were supposed to take place this year have been cancelled. Many of those events have been game-related of course, since gathering in one place is always quite dangerous, but surprisingly, EVO 2020 is getting cancelled for something else entirely.
EVO 2020 was supposed to be held online this year because of the aforementioned COVID-19 situation, but it wasn’t supposed to be cancelled. But now, it, unfortunately, has been. That’s because it was reported that EVO CEO Joey Cuellar was being placed on administrative leave due to more than one accusation of sexual misconduct. Because of this, the event has been cancelled, and naturally, Cuellar will not be involved with EVO from here on out.

UK’s Government Demands that Video Game Loot Boxes be Immediately Classified as Gambling

It seems that the loot box controversy that spiked years ago when Battlefront II came out is still making waves across the world as a whole, with many nations considering what role they will play in their legal assessment of gambling.
A mere month after the government of the United Kingdom made a call to acquire evidence regarding the function of loot boxes and whether or not they should be regulated more than they are right now, a House of Lords Select Committee on gambling has deemed that loot boxes should immediately be re-classified from their current status to gambling, according to GameIndustry.biz.

The Supposed Cheaper Version Of The Xbox Series X Will Actually Have The Same CPU As The More Expensive Model

It has been quite widely reported prior to now that Microsoft is planning to release a second next-generation Xbox that is supposed to be a less powerful version that lacks a physical media drive. But another report has revealed that this may not actually be the case.
Tom Warren of The Verge, who has accurately reported on unannounced Microsoft products in the past, has claimed that the CPU for the cheaper and supposedly inferior version of the next-gen Xbox will have “the same speed as the Series X.” That said, Warren did confirm that this cheaper console will have a different GPU frequency and CU count.
