Digital games are already pretty close to being the absolute future of video games. There aren’t many people out there that still buy physical copies, and the ones who are out there are vastly outnumbered by people who buy digital copies. It’s no surprise of course; digital copies of games are just more convenient, and can be played as soon as they are downloaded. So, if you’re looking to expand your digital library for either the Xbox One or Nintendo Switch, Target has some discounts going on that are perfect for you. Their current weekly deal includes 20% off of digital downloads, add-ons, in-game currencies, and season passes. You will receive an email for these downloads after purchasing them, though Target has admitted that Amazon is price-matching some of the deals.

One of the most notable items available in this deal is the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Fighters Pass for the Nintendo Switch, which is available at $20 instead of the usual $25. This is one of the prices that Amazon has gone out of its way to match. This pass nets a customer all five Challenger Packs for the game, which includes five bonus fighters, and stages and music to go with them. Three of those fighters –Joker, the hero of Dragon Quest, and Banjo-Kazooie- have already been released, and the other two will be added to the game’s roster in the months to come.
Usually at $35, you can also get a 12 month Nintendo Switch Online Family Membership for $28. A similar deal was available at Target back on Amazon Prime day, but it didn’t last very long at all. That’s because this deal is the best for families that have a lot of Switches and a lot of players to provide a subscription for. The reason the Online Family Membership is so good is because it provides a 12-month subscription for up to eight Switches and accounts. Splitting the cost between eight people would make a year subscription as cheap as $3.50 per person. And if you already have a family membership, you can purchase this one and just stack it on the remaining subscription time you have left. But if you have an individual membership, you can’t take advantage of this deal to alter it.
Some of the actual games on sale include Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu for $36, Stardew Valley for $11.60, Super Mario Party for $40, and Minecraft for $14.40. You can get Monster Hunter World for $42.40 on the Xbox One, which is a pretty good deal considering the expansion Iceborne, is coming out for the game on September 6th.

While these deals are all well and good, you probably should double-check to see the price of these games elsewhere, just to be sure. Some of them may be cheaper on the Nintendo Eshop, and you never know if the physical copies might actually be cheaper than the digital ones.
