Most everyone knows about Game Pass these days: it’s the Microsoft subscription service that grants you access to a huge library of games, for a monthly fee. Since its inception, Game Pass has been very well received, since it is a very affordable way for gamers to experience a wide variety of titles without paying for each and every one of them. Needless to say, $15 for a month’s worth of access to a hundred games or more is a pretty good deal.
Now, there are two different types of Game Pass: one for the Xbox, and one for PC players. Naturally, the games being offered on each version are different, seeing as how there are some games only available on PC and not on Xbox, or vice versa. However, there have been a few odd differences between the two, such as the fact that the PC Game Pass didn’t have access to EA Play while the Xbox did, barring the PC from a wide number of titles via Game Pass.
However, that has changed very recently. On March 18th, EA Play was made available to PC Game Pass subscribers. This means that all Game Pass and Game Pass Ultimate subscribers will be able to play popular EA titles like Titanfall 2, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, and series like Battlefield. Not only will subscribers get access to these games, but they will get in-game rewards every single month for a number of select titles for the foreseeable future. The even better news is that March 18th is also the day that Star Wars: Squadrons was added to Game Pass, if there are any subscribers on either platform that wanted to try it.
Unfortunately for PC users, the process of accessing all of these games is a little more complicated than it is for Xbox users. PC users will not only have to download the EA desktop app, but they’ll also have to create an EA account if they don’t have one and link it to their Xbox account. This process is a little more complicated, but ultimately, it’s not too bad. The good news is, if you are new to Game Pass and have never had it before, then you can subscribe for the first month for just one dollar. It’s a great way to test out a bunch of new titles at a very low cost.
After that first month, prices become the usual once again. It’s $10 a month for Game Pass by itself, and $15 a month for Game Pass Ultimate, which also includes Xbox Live Gold, cloud streaming, and EA Play. Needless to say, this is not at all a terrible deal, especially considering that Game Pass has some of the most popular Xbox series available, such as Halo, Gears of War, and quite recently, the Elder Scrolls series. PC users may have had to wait longer than Xbox users, but they can finally enjoy all the EA titles additions to that list as well.
