While we’ve known about Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order since it was revealed back at E3 of 2018, we’ve only recently received a release date for it, that being November 15th of 2019. It’ll launch on Xbox One, PS4, and PC, though PC distribution will be handled solely through EA’s Origin Store. The game, being developed by Respawn Entertainment of Titanfall and Apex Legends renown, will be entirely single-player.
The story will focus on Jedi Padawan Cal Kestis following the events of Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, as he flees from a newly erected Galactic Empire that is trying to hunt down the last remnants of the Jedi Order. Naturally Cal will have to advance his Jedi skills to survive against the Imperial Manhunt, all while dealing with tragic events in his past. While possessing a hopefully gripping narrative, based on what we’ve seen so far the game will also include puzzle solving, acrobatic action, sweet force powers and excellent lightsaber skills.
That’s all well and good of course, but what do you actually get for pre-ordering the game? After all, if you’re already sold on it, you might be interested in getting some extra goodies with your preemptive purchase. That said, there are a lot of different editions you could buy, and they come with different pre-order bonuses.
First up is the standard edition, which is the cheapest base package of the game. This will still net you a lot of in-game cosmetic content, including two different hilts for your lightsaber, an orange blade for it, and a unique skin for the nifty little droid that will be at your side throughout the game. The PlayStation Store will also give you a theme for your home screen when you pre-order it. Depending on where you buy the game, there are some other bonuses as well; GameStop will give you a $15 Fandango gift card, while Best Buy will give you $10 of store credit.
The Deluxe Edition of the game is only $10 more expensive and includes a bit more content when you pre-order. It’ll have everything that was included in the standard edition of the game, but it’ll also have a few more cosmetic in-game items, as well as a Director’s Cut with behind the game features. You can get the same types of bonuses as before if you get them from GameStop or Best Buy as well.
Regardless of which version you choose, we should all hope that Respawn’s first swing at a Star Wars game will be a major success that could lead to several more.
