The design is reminiscent of the icy lake seen in one of the very first trailers for the game, with a gray and white front plate that has metallic plating accents. Some nice color contrast is offered by the bright blue analog sticks and the yellow start and menu buttons, and the back triggers sport blue as well. The back grip is rubberized, ensuring that you have a firm hold of something you probably don’t want to drop. If you’re a big fan of the aesthetic, there are matching controller charging docks and external hard drives, though those limited edition goodies aren’t on sale.

Of course, with the next generation Xbox right around the corner, you may be feeling a little hesitant in purchasing anew Xbox One controller. After all, why not just wait until the new platform comes out? While this was once a valid concern, Microsoft already announced that all Xbox One controllers will be compatible with Project Scarlett, so you’ve got nothing to fear; if you really like the design of this limited edition controller, it’ll be money well spent. As said previously, the controller is about $64.99, and it’s unlikely you’ll find a significantly better deal anytime soon, so if you really are interested, it’s probably best to buy it now, rather than waiting until later when it’ll go back to being its normal price. There’s never any guarantee as to how long a deal will stay active, especially on Amazon.
