In February of this year, Target Circle was launched in six pilot markets – Dallas, Charlotte, Denver, Indianapolis, Kansas City and Phoenix. Now, the company is spreading the savings nationwide. The company rolled out its new program Oct. 6, offering incentives to provide help to local nonprofits nationwide.

“A Target Run is much more than checking items off your list—it’s about discovery, inspiration and an effortlessly joyful shopping experience. And we’re out to make that experience even more rewarding with Target Circle, offering guests more benefits and attracting new shoppers,” said Rick Gomez, executive vice president, chief marketing officer and chief digital officer, Target in a February press release. “We’re building deeper relationships with guests and serving up the most personalized way to shop Target yet, all while encouraging everyone to choose Target again and again.”

Guests can join online if they already have a Target.com account, cartwheel or Target Red Card. Additionally, just by sharing their phone number at the register, customers can join in on the savings. Target Circle offers 1 percent back in savings for every purchase — redeemable at a later date. Additionally, members get personalized savings and deals tailored to their shopping habits. Target will also give Circle members early access to savings and deals. What’s even better is shoppers get an additional 5 percent off of a purchase on their birthday.

As Target is transitioning to Target Circle, Cartwheel will be incorporated into the Circle deals.

“Our guests are at the center of everything we do, and we’re always looking for new ways to create even easier, more rewarding shopping experiences that give them another reason to choose Target more often,” said Rick Gomez, executive vice president and chief marketing and digital officer, Target in a recent press release. “We worked directly with guests to develop Target Circle, and the program includes the benefits and perks that they told us were most important to them, from earning on every Target trip to having the opportunity to help Target make a positive impact within their local communities.”
Customers can enter a receipt up to seven days after a purchase to redeem their 1 percent toward purchases. To become a valid member, customers must enter their first and last names and a valid email address. Target states that rewards will expire if a customer does not redeem them within one year of earning.

Target’s giving back this year to customers as they can start earning while they spend on holiday goods.
