It has been confirmed that Cyberpunk 2077 will get DLC expansions after it launches, and naturally, they will be quite large. Moreover, one of them will be a multiplayer mode. It was during a recent investor call regarding the most recent financial quarter that CD Projekt President Adam Kiciński revealed additional details about all of this DLC, including how long it may be and its announcement window.

During the Polish investor meeting, Kiciński was asked about future DLC that is set to release on September 17th. How big the DLC would be was one of the most noteworthy questions. Translations of the call reveal Kiciński stating that players can expect the DLC for Cyberpunk 2077 to be roughly the same size as the DLC for the Witcher 3, at the very least. For those familiar with the Witcher 3, its expansions generally provided around 40 hours of extra content, so this is great news and a particularly bold statement.

Similarities to the Witcher 3 DLC don’t end there. Even the announcement window for this DLC is supposed to be similar to the previous CD Projekt title, according to the President. In the past, the DLC expansions for the Witcher were both announced just a week before the game’s launch. That means CD Projekt will likely do the same thing with Cyberpunk, announcing its DLC expansions just a short time prior to its release date.

Thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic, CD Projekt is currently working on Cyberpunk 2077 from home. Even so, CD Projekt has stated that the game is mostly complete, and all they are really doing now is polishing up the game so it can be the best possible version of itself come September. Additionally, the developer has revealed a lot of extra lore details, specifically regarding the many gangs that exist in Night City, the setting for the story.

While this is technically a fair deal of details regarding the DLC, as few gamers get to know the potential release date for that kind of thing prior to the game itself actually being released. Moreover, it’s nice to know how large one can expect the DLC to be. However, we don’t actually know any specific details regarding the content of this DLC. Granted, with the game not even being out yet, perhaps that would be a little much, but it is still worth noting.

Then again, considering CD Projekt’s record of amazing games and amazing DLC for those games, there’s probably very little to worry about regardless. There’s almost no doubt that the content will be amazing, whatever it is. Here’s hoping that this highly anticipated game remains mostly unaffected by COVID-19 and its many hazards. It has been mostly untouched by the pandemic so far, but of all the games that could get delayed, it would certainly be one of the worst options. Of course, maybe it wasn’t a good idea to jinx it in such a manner.
