Microsoft has revealed some new information specifically regarding the PC edition of Halo Infinite within a blog post that was focused on the company’s bigger vision for the future of PC gaming. In this blog post, Microsoft shared that Infinite will have both cross-progression and cross-play for multiplayer.

Anyone who was waiting for Halo Infinite before knows that it was delayed recently due to issues with COVID-19. At the time that this delay was announced, no specific release date was mentioned for it later down the line, though it was expected for that release to be sometime in 2021. But the uncertainty is gone now, as we have now been officially informed that Halo Infinite is now expected to release in Fall of 2021, developer 343 Industries confirmed this in a blog post. As part of 343’s year-end update, they confirmed the new release date, while also giving expectant fans a peek at some of the game's art, graphics, and customization features.

Most of the news regarding Halo Infinite has been bad recently. The hotly anticipated game has been delayed until 2021, to start with. On top of that, another of its directors has left the project, raising some questions about the future of the project in general. And yet, not all the news is bad, as the game's various marketing promotions are still making their mark this year. Believe it or not, the latest of these promotions is actually courtesy of Butterfinger.

Halo Infinite may be in the works right now, but that doesn’t mean it is the only thing related to Halo that 343 has been busy with. One of their teams continues to work on the Master Chief Collection, having continually introduced a number of impressive updates since the game’s inception. And of course, the trend isn’t ending anytime soon, with a rather sizable and notable update coming to Halo: Combat Evolved in particular. In an odd twist, the first and traditionally least customizable game in the franchise is going to be getting some more customization.

Tim Longo, who was previously the creative director of Halo 5: Guardians and until recently, the creative director of Halo Infinite, has left 343 industries. He was part of the leadership shakeup 343 had a few weeks ago, in which he was moved from his position as creative director to a different one. Following this change in positions, Longo voluntarily left 343 Industries.

Lots of video games get adaptations; movies, books, TV shows, etc. Unfortunately, very few of those adaptations are good. Just look at the past examples of old Mortal Kombat movies, or Street Fighter. Even video game adaptations that are comparatively good, like Warcraft, are objectively still lackluster.
