Happy 2019!
A great start to the year with news that Cathay Pacific Airlines will honor the massive pricing error which led to many people scoring first class airfare for less than $800, which is normally priced at $10,000+!
Cathay has confirmed via their twitter account, in a somewhat lighthearted and humorous way, admitting it was a pricing mistake on their end and that they’ve learned their lesson.
“Happy 2019 all, and to those who bought our good – VERY good surprise ‘special’ on New Year’s Day, yes – we made a mistake but we look forward to welcoming you on board with your ticket issued. Hope this will make your 2019 ‘special’ too!

Cathay Pacific is known as one of the best airlines in the world, especially because their premium product, business/first class, is simply outstanding.
For those who were lucky enough to snag one of these flights, congratulations!
Quick note, when these error fares do occur, it is strongly advised to not make any further plans or bookings, such as other flights, hotels, or cars until the airline confirms whether they will honor the error fares. It usually takes a couple days for that to happen…once the airline can run the numbers and figure out how big of a loss they will have to take.
